STEP 1 / 4 · What sound do you want?

What should we make?

Describe any sound in plain words. Don't overthink it — you can shape it next.

VARIANT 06 · GUIDED

Hold the user's hand without tying it

Most people don't arrive knowing what compression or WSOLA time-stretching is — they arrive with a sound in their head. Guided turns the whole pipeline into a calm, four-step journey where every screen asks one question and offers an encouraging way forward.

One decision per screen

Describe, Shape, Refine, Export. Only one step is visible at a time, with big controls and reassuring copy. The progress rail always shows where you are and how much is left — the anxiety-reducing pattern from great checkout and onboarding flows.

Plain language over jargon

“Add space”, “Make it punchier”, “Pitch it down” — friendly cards that quietly map onto real Tone.js and SoundTouch processors. Newcomers never see a parameter they didn't ask for, yet tapping a chip reveals full fine-tune sliders for anyone who wants them.

Power is still underneath

Crucially, the recipe is the same unified, interleavable rack as the pro variants. SoundTouch pitch/time can sit anywhere in the chain, items reorder by drag, and nothing is hidden — it's just sequenced gently. Approachable on the surface, deep underneath.

Best for

First-time visitors, casual creators, and anyone who'd bounce off a wall of knobs. The trade-off is speed for experts, who'll prefer the prompt-first or console variants. The persistent mini-player keeps the sound audible the entire way through.
